Baby Feeding Essentials I Use for My Baby

As my baby grows and starts exploring more solid foods, I’ve been trying to find feeding products that are practical, easy to clean, and comfortable for everyday use.

For feeding time, I like using products that make mealtime less messy while helping my baby learn independent eating skills.

One brand I have used is NUK for sippy cups because the soft spout helps babies transition from bottle feeding to drinking independently. I’ve found that spill-resistant cups are helpful as babies learn how to hold and drink on their own.

For mealtime plates, I prefer durable and easy-to-clean options like stainless steel toddler feeding sets from Elk and Friends. These plates are practical because they are long lasting and don’t stain easily.

Another feeding essential I use is waterproof long sleeve bibs from Tiny Twinkle. These bibs help protect clothing during messy eating and are especially helpful during baby-led feeding. I’ve noticed they reduce the amount of laundry after meals.

From my experience, feeding products that are washable and durable make daily routines much easier. Babies learn by exploring food, so having tools that are simple to clean and reuse helps keep mealtime stress low.

If you are starting solids or feeding a baby around 6–12 months, it may help to slowly introduce practical feeding tools that support independence while keeping cleanup manageable.

I enjoy using a combination of feeding essentials that are convenient at home and practical when traveling.

Why I Chose These Products

When selecting baby feeding products, I tend to prioritize safety, practicality, and ease of maintenance over complicated features.

I prefer feeding essentials that are:

• Easy to wash or dishwasher safe• Durable enough for daily use• Comfortable for babies to hold and use• Helpful for encouraging self-feeding skills• Designed to help reduce mess during meals

I also like keeping feeding setups simple rather than using too many unnecessary accessories. In my experience, focusing on a few high-quality essentials works better than collecting many products that may not be used regularly.

You can find more baby product recommendations and personal experiences in my other posts.

  • NUK Learner Cup 6+ Months Timeless Collection Amazon Exclusive 10 Oz – BPA Free Spill Proof Sippy Cup 2 Count

If your baby isn’t quite ready for a full open cup, this is a great in-between.

The soft spout feels familiar, making the transition from bottle smoother, while still helping them learn independent drinking — without constant spills.

  • Munchkin Sippy Cup for 6 Month Old and Up, Spill Proof Miracle 360 Toddler Cups with Transition Handles, 7 Ounce, 2 Pack, Blue/Green

Tired of cleaning up spilled water all day?

This spill-proof 360 cup lets babies drink from any side while keeping leaks contained. It’s been such a smooth transition from bottle to cup in our house — and I love that it keeps floors and clothes dry.

  • Elk and Friends 7.8” Stainless Steel Non Divided Plates with Silicone Sleeve + Storage Lid | Baby, Toddler, Kids | Dishwasher Safe | Dinner & Snack Plates | 4 Pack

I wanted something that wouldn’t crack, stain, or absorb smells — and these have held up so well.

The stainless steel is durable, the silicone sleeve keeps them from sliding, and they’re easy to toss in the dishwasher after messy meals.

  • Stainless Steel Baby Plate and Bowls with Suction, Divided Kids Baby Plate and Toddler Bowl with Removable Silicone Suction, Non-Slip Baby Feeding Set Dishwasher Safe,4 Packs

If your baby has entered the “throw everything” phase… this helps.

The suction base keeps the plate and bowl more secure on the tray, while the stainless steel holds up way better than plastic when it gets knocked around.

  • Tiny Twinkle Long Sleeve Bib for Babies & Toddlers | Waterproof Smock Bib for Eating | Machine Washable & Mess-Proof Feeding Essentials

Tired of outfit changes after every meal? This keeps the mess contained and clothes clean. Its easy to clean, all you have to do is rinse and dry after meal time and its ready for the next use.

  • Tiny Twinkle Mess Proof Baby Bibs | 2 Pack Waterproof Toddler Bib for Eating | Baby Apron for Feeding, Machine Washable, Perfect Shower Gift (Sage Charcoal, 6–24M)

This is one of those simple products we use every single day.

Lightweight, waterproof, and easy to wipe down or toss in the wash — it keeps clothes clean without feeling bulky.

  • PandaEar Set of 3 Silicone Baby Bibs Waterproof, Soft, Unisex, 10-72 Months

If your baby drops more food than they eat, these help save it.

The deep pocket actually catches food instead of letting it fall straight to the floor — which means less waste and less cleanup.

  • PandaEar 6 Pack Silicone Baby Spoons and Fork Feeding Set- Anti-Choke First Self Feeding Utensils for Baby Led Weaning Ages 3 Months (Tan,Walnut&Grey)

One thing I like about these is the shorter, safer design.

They’re made to support early self-feeding while helping reduce the risk of gagging from utensils going too far back.

  • Elk and Friends Stainless Steel Bowls with Silicone Sleeve for Babies & Toddlers | Lids Included | Stay Put Suction | Cereal & Snack Bowls | 4 Pack

These bowls are part of our daily snack and meal setup.

The silicone sleeve helps keep the bowl more stable, and I like that the stainless steel doesn’t stain or absorb food smells over time.
